Description
A cozy apple loaf filled with cinnamon sugar swirls, soft apple chunks, and topped with a light glaze. Perfect for any fall moment.
Ingredients
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 apples, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup sugar for apples
1 tsp cinnamon for apples
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease loaf pan.
2. Combine brown sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon. Set aside.
3. Cream butter and 2/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
5. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture, alternating with milk.
7. Toss apples with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
8. Layer half the batter, half the apples, and half the cinnamon sugar in the pan. Repeat.
9. Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the layers.
10. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
11. Cool completely. Drizzle glaze made from powdered sugar and milk over the top.
Notes
Use tart, firm apples for best flavor and texture.
Wait for the loaf to cool before glazing so the icing stays on top.
