A delicious stuffing made with caramelized onions and apples, perfect for enhancing your holiday meals.
4 cups bread cubes
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups vegetable broth
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a medium baking dish.
2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and celery. Cook 15–20 minutes until golden and soft.
3. Add apples, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 more minutes.
4. Transfer bread cubes to a large bowl. Add onion-apple mixture and stir gently.
5. Pour vegetable broth slowly into the bowl, stirring gently to moisten the bread evenly.
6. Stir in chopped parsley.
7. Transfer stuffing to the greased baking dish.
8. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden and crisp.
Use day-old bread for best texture.
Add nuts or dried cranberries for variety.
Can be made a day ahead and reheated.
