Description

This Crispy Cabbage Burger Bake is a low-carb dinner that layers seasoned meat over roasted cabbage slices. It’s oven-baked and packed with smoky, savory flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

1 small head cabbage, sliced into ½-inch rounds

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 lb ground beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 large egg (optional)

1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cut cabbage into ½-inch thick slices. Brush both sides with olive oil and lay flat on a baking sheet.

3. Mix ground meat with onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, pepper, and egg if using.

4. Shape into patties and place each one on a cabbage slice.

5. Bake for 25 minutes until meat is cooked through and cabbage is tender.

6. Top with cheese if using, then broil for 3 to 5 minutes until melted and lightly browned.

7. Remove from oven and serve hot.

Notes

Substitute with plant-based meat if desired.

Add chili flakes for spice.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.
