Description
This Crispy Cabbage Burger Bake is a low-carb dinner that layers seasoned meat over roasted cabbage slices. It’s oven-baked and packed with smoky, savory flavor.
Ingredients
1 small head cabbage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb ground beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large egg (optional)
1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cut cabbage into ½-inch thick slices. Brush both sides with olive oil and lay flat on a baking sheet.
3. Mix ground meat with onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, pepper, and egg if using.
4. Shape into patties and place each one on a cabbage slice.
5. Bake for 25 minutes until meat is cooked through and cabbage is tender.
6. Top with cheese if using, then broil for 3 to 5 minutes until melted and lightly browned.
7. Remove from oven and serve hot.
Notes
Substitute with plant-based meat if desired.
Add chili flakes for spice.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.
