Description

This garlic butter ahi tuna recipe is a quick and delicious way to enjoy fresh tuna. It features pan-seared tuna steaks with a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

2 Ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each, 1 inch thick)

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

3. Carefully place tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.

4. Remove tuna from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

6. Stir in chopped fresh parsley and lemon juice.

7. Return the tuna steaks to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the tuna, coating both sides.

8. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

Adjust cooking time based on your preferred doneness.

Fresh, high-quality tuna is key for this recipe.

You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for a little heat.
