Ingredients
2 Ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each, 1 inch thick)
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
3. Carefully place tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
4. Remove tuna from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
6. Stir in chopped fresh parsley and lemon juice.
7. Return the tuna steaks to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the tuna, coating both sides.
8. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.
