Description
Mississippi Mud Chicken is a creamy skillet dinner with ranch and gravy-seasoned sauce, melty cheddar, and optional bacon. A cozy, one-pan meal ready in 45 minutes.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
1/4 cup green onions, sliced
Instructions
1. Heat oil in skillet. Season chicken and sear for 5–7 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
2. In same pan, stir together ranch mix, gravy mix, broth, and soup. Simmer gently.
3. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over. Cover and cook 15–20 minutes until done.
4. Top with cheddar and bacon. Cover until cheese melts.
5. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Use cream of chicken instead of mushroom if preferred.
Add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy version.
Store leftovers in fridge up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months.
