Description
This easy slow cooker BBQ beef brisket is juicy, smoky, and full of bold flavor. It requires just five ingredients and is perfect for stress-free weeknight dinners or weekend gatherings.
Ingredients
4 pounds beef brisket
1 tablespoon liquid smoke (optional)
1/4 cup barbecue seasoning
1/2 cup beef broth
2 cups barbecue sauce (plus more for serving)
Instructions
1. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
2. Rub brisket with liquid smoke, if using.
3. Coat all sides with barbecue seasoning.
4. Place brisket in a 5-quart slow cooker, fat-side up.
5. Pour beef broth around the meat.
6. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
7. Remove the brisket and set it aside.
8. Stir 1 cup of cooking liquid with 2 cups barbecue sauce.
9. Discard remaining liquid from the cooker.
10. Return brisket to the cooker and pour sauce over it.
11. Cover and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes.
12. Let brisket rest 10 minutes before slicing or shredding. Serve with extra sauce.
Notes
Use either flat or point cut brisket.
Liquid smoke enhances flavor but is optional.
Store leftovers with extra sauce to keep moist.
