Description
Homemade Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish with flaky laminated dough, creamy filling, and sweet strawberry topping.
Ingredients
230 g butter
600 g all-purpose flour
7 g instant dry yeast
40 g granulated sugar
12 g salt
280 ml whole milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg for egg wash
200 g strawberries
100 g sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
3/4 tbsp arrowroot or cornstarch
230 g cream cheese
80 g sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Shape butter block and chill.
2. Mix and knead dough ingredients.
3. Enclose butter inside dough.
4. Roll and fold dough three times with chilling between folds.
5. Cook strawberry filling until thickened and cool.
6. Beat cream cheese filling until smooth.
7. Roll dough and cut into squares.
8. Add fillings and fold corners.
9. Brush with egg wash and bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.
10. Drizzle icing and serve.
Notes
Dough can be refrigerated up to 3 days.
Freeze dough up to 2 months.
Best enjoyed fresh.
