Classic Chicago Style Hot Dog recipe with authentic toppings, poppy seed buns, and juicy all-beef frankfurters.
Ingredients
1 package all beef frankfurters
1 package poppy seed hot dog buns
yellow mustard
sweet green pickle relish
1 large chopped white onion
1 tomato cut into wedges
8 dill pickle spears
sport peppers
celery salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Wrap buns in foil and warm for 5 minutes.
3. Bring water to a boil in a large pot.
4. Cook frankfurters for 5 minutes.
5. Place hot dogs into warm buns.
6. Add mustard in a zigzag pattern.
7. Spoon relish along one side.
8. Sprinkle onions over the top.
9. Place tomato wedges on the opposite side.
10. Add sport peppers and pickle spear.
11. Finish with celery salt before serving.
Notes
Use natural casing hot dogs for authentic texture.
Warm buns before assembling.
Avoid ketchup for traditional Chicago flavor.
