Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
8 slices American cheese
4 hamburger buns
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tbsp pickle relish
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Onion slices
Dill pickle slices
Instructions
1. Divide beef into loose balls
2. Mix the secret sauce ingredients
3. Heat skillet until extremely hot
4. Smash patties thin on the skillet
5. Cook until crispy around the edges
6. Flip and add cheese
7. Toast hamburger buns lightly
8. Assemble burgers with toppings and sauce
Notes
Use 80/20 beef for best texture
Cast iron skillets create the crispiest crust
