Ingredients
32 ounces frozen homestyle meatballs
1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix
1 ounce packet ranch dressing seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup pepperoncini juice
1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
8 whole pepperoncini peppers
Mashed potatoes, optional for serving
Egg noodles, optional for serving
Rice, optional for serving
Fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
1. Place the frozen meatballs in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
2. Whisk together the au jus gravy mix, ranch seasoning, water, and pepperoncini juice in a medium bowl.
3. Pour the mixture over the meatballs.
4. Gently stir until the meatballs are evenly coated.
5. Scatter the sliced butter over the top.
6. Add the whole pepperoncini peppers throughout the slow cooker.
7. Cover and cook on Low for 3 to 4 hours.
8. Stir gently about every 30 minutes if possible so the meatballs stay coated and do not stick around the edges.
9. Cook until the meatballs are fully heated through and the butter has melted into the sauce.
10. Spoon the cooking sauce over the meatballs before serving.
11. Serve hot as an appetizer or with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
Notes
Use good-quality frozen meatballs for the best flavor and texture.
Choose low-sodium au jus seasoning if you are sensitive to salt.
You can replace some or all of the pepperoncini juice with beef broth for a milder flavor.
Cooking on Low helps the meatballs stay tender.
Stir occasionally so the sauce remains evenly distributed.
Store leftovers with the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Freeze cooled portions in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.
Thaw frozen meatballs overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Reheat gently on the stovetop, in the microwave, or in the slow cooker until hot throughout.
