Description
A creative layered dumpling dish made with wonton wrappers, seasoned ground pork, garlic, ginger, scallions, and steamed until tender and juicy.
Ingredients
1 lb ground pork
4 scallions, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, grated
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 to 2 tsp chili crisp
Splash of rice vinegar
3/4 tsp white pepper
1 to 2 tbsp chicken broth or water
18 to 24 wonton or dumpling wrappers
Extra soy sauce
Extra chili crisp
Extra scallions
Sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Prepare a steamer with gently simmering water.
2. Mix together the ground pork, scallions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili crisp, rice vinegar, and white pepper.
3. Dip a wonton wrapper briefly in water and place it into a baking dish.
4. Spread a thin layer of pork filling over the wrapper.
5. Repeat layering wrappers and filling until finished.
6. Top with a final wrapper layer.
7. Pour chicken broth or water over the top.
8. Steam for 25 minutes until the pork is fully cooked.
9. Garnish with soy sauce, chili crisp, scallions, and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Keep the pork layers thin for even cooking.
Only dip wrappers briefly in water.
Ground chicken or turkey may be substituted.
Adjust chili crisp to taste.
