Ingredients
4 pork chops, about 1 inch thick
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 garlic cloves, finely minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese for the sauce
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F when preparing the breaded version.
2. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.
3. Coat each pork chop in flour, dip it into the beaten eggs, and cover it with the Parmesan and panko mixture.
4. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
5. Sear the breaded pork chops for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
7. For the creamy version, sear the seasoned pork chops for 3 to 4 minutes per side, then transfer them to a plate.
8. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds.
9. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
10. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, then simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
11. Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon the garlic Parmesan sauce over them.
12. Cook for 1 additional minute, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
Use pork chops that are about 1 inch thick for even cooking.
Let the pork rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for smoother melting and stronger flavor.
Cook the pork chops in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
Use a meat thermometer and remove the pork when it reaches 145°F.
Bone-in or boneless pork chops both work well.
Replace heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
Add Italian seasoning, mozzarella, or red pepper flakes for variation.
